Big Apple Intelligence updates

New and updated Siri integrations, new features, new models for developers

Apple announced many AI-related updates during WWDC26. Let’s get through some of the details.

• Based on App Intents and Spotlight Call Context now brings relevant information during the call, for example, extracting flight information when contacting airlines customer support.

• Game Porting Toolkit 4 now has skills for agentic coding.

• Apple Intelligence models are built using Gemini technologies, not the Gemini model itself. Developers are provided with 32k context window for Private Cloud Compute models.

• Apple Foundation Private Cloud Compute Models are subject to daily limits for the users. Developers are responsible to handle limit exhaustion in the code.

• Safari uses AI features to organize tabs to topics. Wallet – to split bill between party.WW

• Siri AI now gets voice customization.

• Spotlight search now brings Siri AI experience when detects question instead of search terms.

• Private Cloud Compute models will run on Google servers too using NVIDIA Confidential Computing. Server images will be provided for third-party security researchers to validate Apple’s claims.

• Apple Foundation Models now have reasoning level customization.

• WWDC26 Siri AI demos were in real-time with actual software running. That explains the noticeable delays between request and response.

• Siri AI will notify users if they’re talking to assistant for too long.
