Connectivity Standards Alliance announces Matter 1.6 – with improvements in device setup, simplification of Matter network management, Thermostat Suggestions – allowing easier and more intuitive climate control.

To use new features, both – ecosystem control devices (like iPhones) and smart home devices need to support Matter 1.6.
