Parallels introduces x86 emulation on Apple Silicon
Apple Intelligence now could be used with Windows apps
Parallels Desktop 20.2 now could run x86 versions of Windows and Linux. Running Windows apps now could benefit of Apple Intelligence Writing Tools too.
Users need to use x86 64-bit versions of operating systems. However, 32-bit apps could used with those.
Performance-wise emulation might bring additional impact. Parallels report 2–7 minutes boot time for Windows and overall responsiveness might degrade. No support for USB devices and also nested virtualization is not supported.
